Have learnt to love the process rather than just the results and hopefully that brings me greater satisfaction (work-wise). Grew to love the place I am in but I guess the time has come to move to the next department where I will be challenged and stretched possibly beyond my limits. Going to be my greatest challenge yet, do not feel prep-ed but well who is ever 'prepared' enough, just an excuse for me not to get out of my comfort zone, not willing to start learning all over again, not willing... just not willing. But the decision is made and move I will...

One of those days.....
I am pretty contented with my life at this point in time, thank God for this feeling of peace and contentment. I enjoy my work and have the time for friends and family as well. Had a pretty fruitful day today, had high-tea buffet with some friends at the Marriott, haven't done it like forever :) Then, we received news of one of my friend's client who was admitted in the hosptial due to a massive heart attack. We proceeded to visit him and even though I don't know him but just tagged along as I heard that he does not really have family here; I guess it would be nice for a 70 year old man to have some visitors during this trying period. Suprisingly, I did not see a frail old man lying in bed but a chirpy and smiley 70 year old with a full head of white hair, greeting us with a wide smile. :) He would be going for angioplasty tomorrow but has full faith in God and His plans for him in his life.....
He made me ponder about my own relationship with God; I had a period of my life that I walked closely with Him and though life wasn't all rosy but it all worked out good in the end as I know He was watching my back. But for the past few years, though walk with God had been distant I know He is faithful and still watches my back and gives me the support that I need even though I may not ask for it. His faithfulness and grace is unfathomable and I pray for the strength to make the changes in my life that I have procrastinated for so long... Amen ;)

Reality Bites...
It was a great movie with Winona Ryder and Ethan Hawkes but it aptly describes how I feel as my '3 week reservist holiday' ended and I reported back to work at 6am this morning. For those wondering how I spent my reservist, I effectively worked only 5 days out of the 18 days that I was recalled for. Muharharharhar..... Spent the rest of the time shopping, catching up on some reading and spending loads of time with my telly... :) But I must say the 5 days gave me back the adrenaline rush of hitting the mean streets of Singapore and yes I did put some baddies behind bars ;) Ok, back to the subject... I had this great sense of apprehension and anxiety on Thurs nite as I tossed and turned wondering how it was gonna be back at work after so long (esp in my job, being away for so long there would be some 'warming up' to do). I gave up struggling, prayed about it and slept soundly. On my way to work in my Dad's cab as we approached the office building, strangely I had a sense of peace that overcame me and felt good to be back. It was a little unfamiliar, took a while to 'warm up' but all was well towards the end of the day and the '3 week reservist holiday' certainly gave me a renewed sense of energy. Amen :)

Why am I still not sleeeeeeping?!
I dun believe it but I am still not sleeping... As some of you may know, due to the unique nature of my reservist duties I start work at nite till the wee hours of the morning but usually I would probably be in bed by 5am. I had reported for duty at 10.30pm on Sat and now at daybreak I am still typing away on my laptop and uploading silly ads onto my blog... &%!^*#@ And later today I am supposed to be at Cafe Del Mar at 2pm, how I am gonna be there and not fall asleep would definitely be a mean feat :) But well, I have never been there and it is a friend's bday so I am hoping that the flesh would be as strong as the spirit if not, then my best bday wishes to you WE from yours truly in the land of soft pillows and a warm quilt :)

Once in a while...
Once in a while you just gotta stop and take a break; take a look at all that has passed and breathe in :) I am that kind of person that doesn't really take leave unless I absolutely have to and rarely take sick leave too... Well, was hoping for a break of some sort and then *bam* I was struck with a notice for reservist duties for nearly 3 whole weeks! I didn't feel too enthusiastic about it as I would be kept with some mindless duty in an uncomfortable uniform. I tried my best to get out of it by having deferred but to no avail and so on 28th May I reported for my duty. But all has not gone as bad as I thought it would be, was posted for a duty that I kinda liked and it gives me the time for myself as well. It was kinda God's way of giving me a 'break' knowing that I needed one and I thank Him for it :)

Everything Else That Is Going On Around Us...
Watched 'Blood Diamond'; not a bad movie but what struck me most was that there is so much going on around us but sometimes, we are so inward looking that all that bothers us is how long the queue is at the Gucci sale or just looking forward to the next long weekend. Do not be mistaken, I am no saint and definitely not an activist of any sort but it sure stopped me in my tracks to at least be wanting to be more aware of what else is going on in the world around us and to take the time, stop and thank God for the comforts that we have and the peace that we take for granted. I Dreamt of You Last Nite...
I dreamt of you last night...
Many years ago we went our seperate ways...
I missed you deeply as time wore on...
I missed the walks, the swing rides and the endless conversations...
I saw you last Christmas coz I asked God to let me know that you were well...
Last night I saw you again in my dreams, it felt so real; your touch, your smell, that loving feeling...
I miss you... yesterday, today and tomorrow...
